In our STEAM area this month, students are being asked the questions: "What is a hologram?" "How does a mirascope work?" "How does Augmented Reality work?" Hmmm....So many questions to answer @ our library!
Why does the bird bend over and drink the water? I'll give you a clue...the beak is made of foam and draws in the water from the cup. The water turns to what? causing pressure that sucks the blue water up the body of the bird. The word I'm looking for starts with an "E".
E-mail me your thoughts. :-) Watch this fantastic video from the author of "El Deafo". My favorite quote from her video is: "When you grow up, your differences actually become your super powers." So true CeCe!!!
On Friday, Nov 15th, 44 WWMS students enjoyed learning about school at the turn of the century. There was no Wi-Fi. Only slate chalk boards. We still had a lot of fun! So proud of the 6th grader who is leading the class in writing their chapter summary. We are reading together one of my favorite books"No Passengers Beyond This Point" by Choldenko. Mrs Gnagi inspires me to create more, read more, and have fun with stories. This visit, Mrs Gnagi unveiled "The Eyeball of Gum". She made this video using the 30 hands storytelling app on her iPad and her fantastic imagination. Visit our storytelling link to hear her eye popping story! Thank you to the Holt Education Grant who awarded our school with enough money to create a wireless iPod listening center. So exciting to think of all the new learning that will happen at Woods. Stay tuned for more news!! |
