Every year I get very excited when October rolls around. I like the cooler weather and the beautiful colored leaves; soups in the crock pot and cornbread in the oven; discussions of Halloween costumes; and of course, Halloween candy! But what I enjoy the most, is the quiet stir in the air and an invitation to all sit closer to tell stories at a party, a campfire, or a sleepover. A story that isn't too scary. A story that isn't to safe, either. A story that delights us and makes us happy to be alive!
Storytelling is an art and I admire my mentor Anne Gnagi's skills at telling a good Halloween story. I want to share two such stories with you. I hope you enjoy, "The Gunn Ghost Story" and "The Eyeball of Gum" written and created by Anne Gnagi, Library-Teacher Extraordinaire.
